The polls are in!

A huge thanks to all of our supporters who took the time to vote in Northeast Championship Wrestling’s 2023 Season Awards! This was one of our biggest voter turnouts, and we can’t wait to kick things off in 2024 on Friday March 8th for NCW SEPARATE WAYS where we can present the winners with their awards.
And the winners are…

“Right Stuff” steven lust 23%
“Old School cool” Cory Michael 22%
“RIOT” Kellan Thomas 14% (tie)
“The Ace” Mike Montero 14% (tie)
“Flawless” Nick Diamond 10%
At NCW Red, White, & Bruised he stole the Heavyweight and New England Titles when he cashed in the Ox Baker Memorial Cup on Heavyweight Champion Robbie “The Giant” Araujo and New England Champion “RIOT” Kellan Thomas, and in the 2023 Season Awards “Right Stuff” Steven Lust did it again winning 23% of the vote to become NCW 2023 Men’s Wrestler of the Year! Lust had a banner year between his battles with AJP, his rivalry with Nick Diamond, his title victories, the dissolution of The League of Excellence, and ending the year still the New England Champion.
Another competitor coming out of nowhere is “Old School Cool” Cory Michael winning 19% of the vote after winning the 2023 Ring of Thrones tournament and ending the Season as one of NCW’s most popular competitors. 2022 Wrestler of the Year winners “RIOT” Kellan Thomas continued his excellent streak while once again tying with the new NCW Heavyweight Champion “The Ace” Mike Montero and Nick Diamond rounding out the votes with 10% of the vote in a big year for him.

Valentine ran the gamut becoming a fan favorite in NCW during her reign as Champion, earning the respect of those inside and outside the ring despite her ‘dgaf’ attitude and style.
The new NCW Women’s Champion Amber adds to the lineage of the Championship winning 26% of the vote after 7 years away from active competition. Newcomer Salem Spikes won a whopping 20% of the vote in her first NCW year, and the returning “Suplex Sweetheart” Isana came back with a strong 18% vote following her in-ring return in July.

Da’ Hoodz 13%
Taking 30% of the vote is NCW’s first Husband/Wife tag team combination and former NCW Tag Team Champions The New England Power Couple (“The Portuguese Powerhouse” Ariel & Brendan Michael Thomas). BMT and Ariel shocked Bristol when they won the Tag Team Titles from The DCMC (Mike Montero & Jason Devine), only to see The Dirt City rebound when Jason Devine & Jamie Tucker (18% of the vote) regained the Championship at The Final Coutndown.
The Hardwork Heroes (Aaron Cademia & Barnaby Combs) won 26% of the vote ending the year as the reigning NCW Tag Team Champions thanks to their alliance with The Alliance of Violence, while former Champions Da’ Hoodz garnered 13% of the vote while earning the respect of the fans.

Diego Alvarez also went to prove he was someone worth looking out for, as he ended the Season with the Ox Baker Memorial Cup and 13% of the fan vote for Breakout Star.
NCW 2023 Manager of the Year

Dallas McCarthy 35% (tie)
Kevin Castro 35% (tie)
Doc Ozone 26%
William Miles the 3rd 4%
In a huge tie both Dallas McCarthy and Kevin Castro have ended 2023 your NCW Manager(s) of the Year! As a former NCW New England Champion Dallas saw The League of Excellence crumble following his NE title loss, but was still able to guide Steven Lust to a Championship dynasty. Nick Diamond would see to it that Dallas would lose his career in Dedham at WrestleFest, sending Dallas out of NCW with 35% of the vote. The other 35% went to Kevin Castro, who did his best to unite Da’ Hoodz over the Season after reuniting with Shay Cash and literally replacing Kris Pyro with Carlos V hoping no one would notice. As the fans began to enjoy the shenanigans of Da’ Hoodz Castro became frustrated with the lack of upward movement for his group, and shocked his entire family at WrestleFest when a frustrated Castro turned his back on his crew to join up with Johnny Pierce.
Doc Ozone had a difficult 2023 after losing Foxy Calvin Campbell to the Osirus Alliance of Violence and then seeing Aaron Cademia turn his back on Doc to willingly join Osirus’ unit. Doc was able to get a measure of revenge taking out William Miles from the 2023 Big City Rumble, and made sure to help out “Old School Cool” Cory Michael in winning his Ring of Thrones crown. Doc ended the year saying goodbye to Osirus following his loss to “RIOT” Kellan Thomas, hoping for a new beginning in 2024. William Miles found himself pledged to Osirus after taking the Oath, and while a newcomer to NCW has shown he’s willing to do anything to adapt to survive taking the remaining 4% of the vote.
