NORWOOD— On Friday night August 26th Northeast Championship Wrestling returns to the Lodge of Elks (152 Winslow Avenue) in Norwood, Massachusetts for what’s sure to be the hottest night of the summer—NCW’s 2016 Big City Rumble! Doors open at 7pm with a 7:30 start time. Presented as a homage to WWE’s Royal Rumble the Big City Rumble Match features an assortment of NCW talent competing in an the over-the-top rope battle royal with the winning participant receiving a Heavyweight Championship Match November 18th at NCW WrestleFest XII. This year’s Big City Rumble will showcase an array of former Big City Rumble winners as well as new talent all vying for the ultimate NCW opportunity.
After the chaotic scene at NCW Red, White, & Bruised where senior official Redd Roche had his hair forcibly cut off by The Maine State Posse and Alexander Lee, NCW Heavyweight Champion Lumberjake has formally offered to put his hair on the line in addition to the NCW Championship August 26th to get his hands on Lee for what he did to Roche last month in Norwood. Jake’s hair and title won’t be the only thing on the line as Lee has grudgingly agreed to put his plentiful chest hair up for grabs with Lumberjake vowing to wax Lee’s chest in the middle of the ring if he’s victorious August 26th.
The NCW Tag Team Champions CrossFit (“The Prettiest Man” Derek Andrews & “The Fittest Man” Dan Terry) celebrate one year as NCW Tag Team Champions August 26th at the Big City Rumble after finding any which way to retain their titles over the last twelve months. The biggest question regarding CrossFit’s celebration is whether “The Selfie-Made Man” Vern Vicallo will show up after going into hiding following his loss to Bryce Clayton back in June. With the Clayton in the disabled list Vicallo might feel confident enough to return to Norwood.
The NCW New England Championship will be on the line when the three-time New England Champion Osirus (along with the mad Doctor Ozone) defends his championship against the very capable “Dan Ram” Danny Ramirez, as “The Dan Ram” looks for another opportunity to become Champion after nearly winning the title at REUNION this past May. Looming over this title match however is Ramirez’s offer to join “High Class” Rich Bass and The High Class Cartel, which could very much change the complexion of the continued Osirus/Ramirez rivalry moving forward.
