What a year!

Thank you to all who voted in the NCW 2024 Season Awards with nearly 300 official votes counted. Winners will receive their award when NCW returns for it’s 2025 Season Kickoff in Dedham, Massachusetts on Friday March 21st.

And your winners are-

NCW 2024 Men’s Wrestler of the Year

“Right Stuff” Steven Lust – 31%

“The Cold Hard Truth” Johnny Pierce – 14%
“The Ace” Mike Montero – 10% (TIE)
“Papi Guapo” Diego Alvarez – 10% (TIE)
“American Muscle” Cletus – 8%

For the second year in a row, “RIGHT STUFF” STEVEN LUST is your NCW Men’s Wrestler of the Year winning 31% after the injured Lust entered the Heavyweight Title Match at WrestleFest XIX against Doctor’s orders and not medically cleared, pinning both “THE COLD HARD TRUTH” JOHNNY PIERCE (10%) and NCW Heavyweight Champion “THE ACE” MIKE MONTERO (10%) in the process to close out the Season in shocking fashion.

Coming in right behind Lust was “The Cold Hard Truth”, who spent the entire year without being pinned or submitted until Lust ruined Pierce’s best laid plans in Dedham. What happens next with an unhinged Pierce running rampant is anyone’s guess. The former NCW Champion Mike Montero and former Ox Baker Cup holder “PAPI GUAPO” DIEGO ALVAREZ found themselves tied at 10% each as Alvarez continues his ascent as a top prospect of New England, with newcomer CLETUS shocking the ranks with an 8% vote in his debut year.

NCW 2024 Women’s Wrestler of the Year

Selena Hekate – 22%

“The Nu-Thing” Elle Valentine – 17%
“The Suplex Sweetheart” Isana – 13%
“The Alley Cat” Delilah Hayden – 11%

In one of the bigger upsets in the 2024 Season Awards, newcomer “THE HELL CAT” SELENA HEKATE is your 2024 Women’s Wrestler of the Year, dominating the votes as Hekate picks up the pieces of SPECIAL ATTRACTION to form her own stable in FATAL ATTRACTION. Despite this being Hekate’s rookie year, the alpha female of the women’s division made a huge statement at WrestleFest when she attacked NCW Women’s Champion DELILAH HAYDEN and NIKKI VALENTINE following their Title Match.

Former NCW Women’s Champion and 2023 Women’s Wrestler of the Year “THE NU-THING” ELLE VALENTINE won 17% of the vote, with her new (?) tag team partner “THE SUPLEX SWEETHEART” ISANA winning 13%. Rounding out the top votes is the reigning underdog of NCW Delilah Hayden, still riding high after her incredible title victory over AMBER at the Big City Rumble.

NCW 2024 Tag Team of the Year

The RIOT N’ Giant Connection (“RIOT” Kellan Thomas & Robbie “The Giant” Araujo) – 22%

Special Attraction – 12%
Carnivora – 11% (TIE)
Da’ Hoodz – 11% (TIE)
The Hardwork Heroes – 10%

Despite having the NCW Tag Team Title belts stolen from them by THE HARDWORK HEROES (10%), the reigning NCW Tag Team Champions “RIOT” KELLAN THOMAS and ROBBIE “THE GIANT” ARAUJO are your 2024 Tag Team of the Year winning 22% of the vote. Thomas has always been known as a tag team specialist in NCW, while “The Giant” has had his fair share of partners over the years, providing this super team with unmatched experience.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION won 12% of the vote, using their tag team prowess to run rampant over the women of NCW, while the feuding CARNIVORA and DA’ HOODZ tied each other at 11%. BARNABY COMBS and AARON CADEMIA rounded off the list at 10%, however the former NCW Tag Team Champions may have seen their final run in NCW after Cademia walked out on Combs at WrestleFest.

Steel Cage for the NCW Tag Team Titles – RIOT N’ Giant Connection vs. The Hardwork Heroes – 10%
RWA Title – BMT vs. AJP – 8%

With 21% of the vote the 2024 Match of the Year in NCW was the Triple Threat Championship Match at NCW WrestleFest XIX between the NCW Champion MIKE MONTERO, “THE COLD HARD TRUTH” JOHNNY PIERCE, and “RIGHT STUFF” STEVEN LUST. It was a wild match to cap off the 2024 Season, with the injured Lust entering the match while not medically cleared as sought revenge on Montero and THE DCMC as well as Pierce and KEVIN CASTRO.

The Title vs. Title Match at the Big City Rumble between Montero and Lust was an all-time classic until Johnny Pierce showed up to ruin the contest, winning 16% of the vote. The epic Steel Cage Match for the NCW Tag Team Championship at KIDS DAY saw RIOT N’ GIANT take back their stolen Tag Team Titles from THE HARDWORK HEROES (10%) while rounding out the top votes was the special RWA Championship encounter between BMT and “THE ENTITLED” AJP.

Who was the breakout star of NCW’s 2024 Season?

With a dominating 23% of the vote “AMERICAN MUSCLE” CLETUS had an amazing rookie year in NCW capping the Season off with a huge victory over ZPB at WrestleFest.

SELENA HEKATE debuted as backup for SPECIAL ATTRACTION and NCW Women’s Champion AMBER, and ended the year forming her own ATTRACTION while declaring war on the women of NCW. CARNIVORA waged a war with KASH MONEY and DA’ HOODZ towards the end of the Season, splitting the vote with 13% tied for Breakout Star. The NCW Ox Baker Cup holder JOHN STEELE had some great showings towards the tail end of the year, including a star making performance against MIKE MONTERO. What will 2025 have in store for “The Lost Cause?”

In an overwhelming landslide KEVIN CASTRO is your 2024 Manager of the Year after joining forces with JOHNNY PIERCE at the end of 2023 and focusing all his attention on “The Cold Hard Truth” and his quest to become NCW Champion.

With 21% of the vote KELLY BROOKS came in 2nd place, backing up SPECIAL ATTRACTION and NIKKI VALENTINE in any way possible. The Mad DOCTOR OZONE received 18% after helping guide “OLD SCHOOL COOL” to the NCW New England Title, while SYD MORRIGAN backed THE MIGHTY BOSCH wherever he went this season with 11% of the vote.

DOCTOR REGINALD HERESY was honored in 2024 at NCW’s REUNION only to see Heresy’s celebration interrupted by BRETT METRO and JAY TUNIS, promising that the future was now and were planning to use Heresy to shock that future and take him out permanently. When RAIN CONWAY showed up to help Metro against Heresy FUTURE SHOCK officially arrived making hell for the New England Pro Wrestling Hall of Famer. With additional arrivals to the group- the Season ended with Future Shock battling Heresy alongside the supporters of Heresy’s cause.

“OLD SCHOOL COOL” CORY MICHAEL and TJ RICHTER found themselves in their own war this Season after the NCW referee took a steel chair to Michael’s head, while “THE COLD HARD TRUTH” JOHNNY PIERCE battled a cold war with announcer DERRICK CONWAY till their Pierce City Street Fight at Total Elimination. THE HARDWORK HEROES stole the NCW Tag Team Titles from THE RIOT N’ GIANT CONNECTION, but their rivalry culminated in the Steel Cage challenge at NCW KIDS DAY.

Who did you love? For the 2nd year in a row “OLD SCHOOL COOL” CORY MICHAEL won the 2024 Most Popular Award with 26%, with newcomer CLETUS coming in right behind the NCW New England Champion with 9% of the vote.

The collective unit of DA’ HOODZ won 8% while the NCW Tag Team Champions split the majority of votes with ROBBIE “THE GIANT” ARAUJO winning 3 more votes than his partner “RIOT” KELLAN THOMAS.

TJ Richter – 18%

Johnny Pierce – 17%
Kevin Castro – 12%
Future Shock – 10%

He started the year as a beloved New England Hall of Famer and referee, but “THE TALENT” TJ RICHTER ended NCW’s 2024 Season as one of the most hated individuals after Richter blasted “OLD SCHOOL COOL” with a steel chair, and attempted to make his life a living hell for the back half of 2024.

JOHNNY PIERCE was right behind Richter, earning 17% of the vote for his destruction of the Title vs. Title Match alongside his partner in crime KEVIN CASTRO (12%). Rounding out the list was the rookie upstarts FUTURE SHOCK, who spent their rookie year torturing DR. HERESY.

The Dirt City Murder Crue – 30%

The Alliance of Violence – 14%

Is this the last ride of THE DCMC? If so, with 30% of the vote The Dirt City went out in style in 2024 with MIKE MONTERO taking matters into his own hands as NCW Champion and bringing back what brought him to the dance, going on the offensive and eliminating anyone that got in his way when they took out the injured STEVEN LUST prior to WrestleFest XIX.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION ruled the women’s division this year earning 20% of the vote, tying with DA’ HOODZ who truly endeared themselves to the fans this Season. Newcomers FUTURE SHOCK won 16% of the vote, while GA WEST’S ALLIANCE OF VIOLENCE collected 14% while taking the Oath,

For the 2nd year in a row, your Maestro of Multimedia DAVE RODRIGUES is your Best Non Wrestling Personality, winning 35% of the vote. Special shoutout to TOMMY THE BARTENDER, the Dedham bartender who takes care of the fans every single show. Another non wrestling personality taking care of the fans is COOL PAULA, providing delicious walking taco’s at every NCW show. Rounding out the top votes this year is DEREK SIMONETTI, the voice of NCW who helps guide the storylines and calls the action inside the ring, while not being afraid to step up to those who get in his face.

STEVEN LUST entered the WrestleFest Main Event against Doctor’s orders, and while he did earn the right to wrestle for the NCW Heavyweight Championship, was the entry a legal move with him not medically cleared? This Holy $#!T moment earned 20% of the vote this year with good reason as Lust left WrestleFest the NCW Champion.

During intermission at NCW KIDS DAY KEVIN CASTRO found himself caned by ringside helper HELPY MCHELPERTON, a shocking move facilitated by a mischievous ROBBIE ARAUJO. What an imp.

JOHNNY PIERCE ruined the fantastic Title vs. Title Match at the Big City Rumble earning 15% of the vote, while TJ RICHTER blasting CORY MICHAEL with the steel chair at the Rumble earned 10% of the vote.
